Application simplifies document search at Siemens Energy

Having to search for documents in up to four different systems is extremely time-consuming. Siemens Energy, together with ECS, has therefore developed a comprehensive search application that enables users from development, product management, sales or quality assurance to find documents more quickly and easily - across systems and locations.

Whether in the quotation phase or during maintenance: employees and suppliers from a wide range of functional areas need information from document management systems on a daily basis. Siemens Energy uses the PLM software Teamcenter, the ERP solution SAP and document management from Fabasoft for this purpose.

Siemens Healthineers standardize PLM system

If design engineers can only exchange data and information manually, this is tedious and no longer up to date. With the aim of improving collaboration while reducing costs, Siemens Healthineers is therefore gradually consolidating its PLM systems and processes - including with its business units in the USA.

In addition to its product portfolio, the medical technology provider is also driving forward its digital transformation internally. Those responsible are concerned with much more than just converting process steps from paper to computer. A key part of this is also the standardization of processes, for example in the management of product data for development
and manufacturing.
